'Lethal Weapon' Renewed with Seann William Scott In and Clayne Crawford Out

Sure, it means that the show has survived the veritable slaughter session that has seen many other fan favorites get the ax instead of renewal, but with Seann William Scott coming in to replace the actor, some Lethal Weapon fans just don't see the point of the series proceeding without Crawford.

The recasting caps a tumultuous two weeks for Fox's sophomore drama that began with an explosive Deadline report that detailed Crawford's alleged bad behavior on the show's set.

Crawford was dismissed from the series after a repeated showing of what execs and producers characterized as "repeated instances of emotional abuse of cast and crew members", that dated back several months.

"To the Fans - Thank you for the overwhelming support and love", it continues.

Getting back to the show, FOX has officially ordered a third season of the hit action-drama, that renewal confirmation came from Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

Back on May 8 one of the show's two leads, Clayne Crawford, was sacked from the show.

Seann William Scott, best known for playing the randy Stifler in the 1999 comedy "American Pie", will replace Clayne Crawford as Damon Wayans' co-star on Fox's "Lethal Weapon".

Sources tell THR that Warners opted to fire Crawford after he was disciplined each time for his poor behavior.

Fox has made a decision to bring back Lethal Weapon, but not its star. The Rectify alum later released a statement in which he elaborated on the two incidents that led Warner Bros.to reprimand him. I appreciate and respect the work of everyone involved.

"Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention 'Lethal Weapon" is receiving because of these incidents'.
